Our Community
More than a football club — a cornerstone of Penmaenmawr life
Penmaenmawr Phoenix FC believes that a football club belongs to its whole community — not just those who play. That's why we have a dedicated Community Liaison Officer whose sole focus is connecting the club with the people, organisations, and schools that make Penmaenmawr the place it is.
From working with local primary and secondary schools to partnering with community groups, organising town events, and opening our facilities to all — our community work goes far beyond the pitch. Whatever is happening in our town, we want PPFC to be part of it.
If you represent a local school, youth group, community organisation, or business and want to explore how we can work together, we'd love to hear from you.
Meet Our Community Team
The people who connect the club with the wider Penmaenmawr community — from school partnerships and events to strengthening the supporter voice around the club.
Cathy Williams
Cathy is PPFC's dedicated link between the club and the wider community — working closely with local schools, youth organisations, and community groups.
Supporters Association
We're exploring ways for supporters to have a stronger voice in the club — watch this space for updates.
School Partnerships
PPFC works directly with local primary and secondary schools across Penmaenmawr and the surrounding area — including Ysgol Capelulo and Ysgol Pencae. Through our school partnerships programme, we aim to inspire a love of sport and physical activity from the earliest age, while strengthening the bond between the club and the next generation of players, supporters, and volunteers.
Coaching Visits
Our qualified coaches visit local schools to deliver football sessions during PE lessons and after-school clubs. Sessions are fun, inclusive, and tailored to the age group — from introduction to football for younger children to skill development for older pupils.
Transition Events
We organise dedicated events to help young players make the step up from school football to club football, providing a safe, friendly, and familiar environment to take that next step. No experience necessary — just enthusiasm.
Curriculum Support
For secondary schools, we work with PE departments to support curriculum delivery, providing access to our facilities and coaching expertise as a community resource.

Community Events
Throughout the year, PPFC organises and participates in events that bring the whole of Penmaenmawr together — not just football fans. From family fun days to community clean-ups, charity fundraisers to seasonal celebrations, we believe the club should be at the heart of town life.
Family Fun Days
Seasonal events open to the entire community — with football activities, food, live music, and entertainment for all ages. Keep an eye on our news and social media for upcoming dates.
Charity & Fundraising Events
We regularly organise events to raise money for both the club and local causes. From charity matches and quiz nights to our monthly Supporters Prize Draw, every event is a chance to come together and give something back.
Volunteering
PPFC is run by volunteers who give their time because they love this club and this community. Whether you can help on matchdays, with kit management, admin, social media, or coaching — every pair of hands makes a difference. No experience necessary, just a willingness to help.
Want to get involved?
Football for Everyone
We run two fantastic entry-level football programmes in partnership with the Football Association of Wales, designed to give every child their first positive experience of the beautiful game. Both programmes are welcoming, non-competitive, and focused on fun.
Fun Football
Provider of the Year 2025McDonald's Fun Football encourages fun, playfulness and friendships — creating the perfect first opportunity for children to play football. This recreational 'turn-up and play' programme, for ages 5–11, focuses on skill development through creative football practice in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Huddle
We’ve applied to become a FAW Huddle provider and hope to launch these girls‑only sessions soon. Huddle offers a relaxed, sociable environment for a positive first experience of the game.
Our Facilities — Open to the Community
Our clubhouse and MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) are available to community groups, organisations, and local teams outside of our own fixtures and training times. We believe in making our facilities work for the whole of Penmaenmawr — not just our own members.
Clubhouse
Our clubhouse provides a welcoming space for meetings, events, and gatherings. With facilities for catering and hosting, it's available to hire for community events, birthday parties, fundraisers, and more. A real community hub in the heart of Penmaenmawr.
MUGA
Our floodlit Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) is available to book for football, basketball, and other sports. Perfect for schools, youth groups, or just a kickabout with friends.
Volunteer with PPFC
From matchday helpers to community events, volunteers keep PPFC running. If you have a few hours to spare, we would love to hear from you.
